Druopta Praha

Founded in 1950, the company began its activities with the production and repair of simple photographic devices. The production was primarily focused on bakelite devices of simple construction. The first products were camera models that had already been produced by other companies (FOKA).

Over time, Druopta absorbed the FIT II camera from the DUFA company, which was renamed PIONÝR, and from the ATAK company — the INKA camera, which was later renamed DRUOFLEX 1. A special case is the ETARETA camera, the production of which began shortly after the end of World War II at the ETA PRAHA company, which had been in existence since 1926.

At the beginning of 1946, the production of this camera was transferred to the Meopta Přerov company, which engaged in its manufacture, but only for a very limited time. Likely in the same year, its production was transferred to the Druopta Praha company, where it continued until the very end.

Druopta Praha also produced cameras of its own design: Corta, Druex, Efekta, Rix, Corina, and the more complex Etareta, Vega (produced in at least six versions).

The Druopta Praha company still exists today, but the production of cameras is no longer part of its program.
