Once you hold this camera in your hands, you won't want to let it go.
The technical condition of this item is ideal!
A bit worn at the back (visible in the photos), slightly scuffed at the front.
The bellows have no defects, they open and close as they should.
The focusing ring turns smoothly, as if it just came from the factory.
I have included photos taken with this very camera: 01, 02, 03, 04, 05. Photographed on a 10-year expired Kodak ProFoto XL 100 film.
Kodak Retina 1a Manual
It’s quite small in size, but it’s heavy. Half a kilo may not seem like much, but considering its size, you can feel it: when you hold it, you know it's something substantial!
The German quality is evident in every detail. How the focusing ring still turns after 70 years is a marvel!
Opening and closing the lens is a delight for the kinesthetic: it closes like a precious chest – click, and no play. Closed.
When I open and lock the lens into working position, I get a monolithic construction – the lens does not wobble relative to the focal plane.
Package contents: the camera itself and the original leather case. There is no strap for the case. The case is in good condition for its age but has one damage, visible in the last photo.
An interesting feature – the tripod thread on the case is 3/8", while on the camera itself, it’s 1/4".
